Writer's Digest Judge 2014

Entangled is a searingly candid story of a woman’s prolonged and painful battle with herself and a highly dubious lover in a thoroughly damaging relationship. Written in first person, the author unsparingly reveals her innermost reservations and misgivings while giving in to the need for love. Though aware of being taken advantage of romantically and financially, the heroine persists despite all the warning signals. The use of interior monologue conveys a revealing succession of events and emotions that enable readers to feel the heroine’s intensity and weakness. The frequent use of four-line poems enhances the poignancy. All the characters are vividly depicted, and the dialogue is credible.
